Does anyone know how Jim Cronin (the Director of Monkey World) died? he was so young and it is so sad! I was watching it last night and he had such a passion for his job both Jim and Alison have done a fantastic job but it just feels like Steve Urwin all over again :o(

You know I saw this last night and have to be honest I didn't know who he was but your post has now let me know. He obviously did a marvelous job in rescuing some of these poor primates, that one in the cage for 20 years, is awful, you just can't imagine can you. If it weren't for people like Jim Cronin, where we would be. Shame the TV doesn't put something on about him and his life.
Hi there monkeys
Apparently he had liver cancer.

Totally agree that he and Alison have done a fabulous job of saving and highlighting the plight of these poor animals, Monkey World is an amazing place.

He was definately deserving of his MBE.

Thank you so much for that, it is so sad, I dont know how far behind the new series is but he does not look well. I have watched Monkey World for years and I am planning to visit the Sanctuary very soon I love monkeys (could you tell...) and all the work he has done is amazing!that would be my dream job :oD

The website (www.monkeyworld.co.uk) did not say how he died, and I agree, they should do a documentary about his life as he gained an MBE for his outstanding work.

Such a sad loss :o(

I`ve watched or recorded every all last weeks episodes to. It`s really good. I`ve also visited Monkey World & at the gate there`s a sign that says something like " the monkey`s are not there for your entertainment, so please do not complain if you don`t see them all." It was really good to see Amy the Orangutang on tv & to see her doing so well.We saw her "in real life".
Monkey Business has been on Animal Planet for a very long time, the staff there are so dedicated and head keeper Jeremy is a love you can see how much they love him by their actions with him such a joy to see.It makes one wonder when you think of all the terrible people walking about and such a good man like Jim has to die.
