It's the 'Davina' Syndrome at work again -

this is a term for the condition where Commissioning Editors confuse the appeal of someone either as a character or as themselves in one show, and imagine that this appeal will automatically translate to another entirely different show.

The results are a disaster, and even though they know this - as in Davina, originator of the condition - they are foisting her on Radio Two listeners now, with predictable results.

I wouldn't shoot AC - just have a quiet word with his agent about sticking to what he is good at.

have to agree, his character in Corrie is brilliant, however he's truly dire in on this talk (?) show. Infact i've only managed to watch 2 episodes (the 2nd to see if he'd improved- he hadn't).

It's too embarrassing to watch.
