By "Obvious", do you mean so it can be tweaked for universal roaming over time and space?. If so, I've got news for you, it isn't real.

On a more serious note, the only times I have ever seen that phone close up was at when it was needed in shot for something that wasn't normal, and in those instances (as in the above when the doctor tweaked it) they probably used a dummy phone and CGI.
