On one of the sketches on Trigger happy TV there's a song which goes something like 'If you could read my mind girl, what a tale my thoughts would tell, just like an oldtime movie, or a ghost from a wishing well'. This track is not featured on the CD accompanying the series. I'd love to get it. Anyone know what it's called and who sings it? Thanks, Dawn

The track is called 'If You Could Read My Mind' by Stars On 54 I think.
The original of If You Read My Mind was by Gordon Lightfoot and that's the one on Trigger Happy I'm pretty sure.
Albionboy is quite correct - it is the Gordon Lightfoot song 'If You Could Read My Mind' which is also the title track of his 'greatest hits' album. It's a sin that the song isn't on the 'THTV' album, but there is a new series due in April, maybe there'll be a second album, and it'll be on there? All together noew ...HELLO!
Apparently Dom Jolly wanted the song put on the Trigger Happy CD but he had to get Gordon Lightfoots approval first. He requested this and sent Lightfoot a tape of the show. Lightfoot thought the show was crap, wanted nothing to do with it and did not give authority for the song to appear on the CD.
