watched a bit of him on paul o'grady today, and the more i see of him the more camper he gets and isnt he putting on a lot of weight, michael ball i mean not paul!

yes i think i was getting confused with which programme he was on because i only saw snippets of both of them, sorry if i also confused anyone, but any way the question was does nayone else think hes put on loads of weight and he sems to be acting camp, or maybe the part in hairspray is getting to him. and yes michael boulton was on paul yesterday

I don't think "Hairspray" is desperate for publicity. It has just won the Evening Standard award for best musical. Was the only musical featured on the recent RVP. Tkts are selling like hotcakes. Michael Ball has just announced he's staying until October 2008. The curse of the Shaftesbury has been obliterated. When Michael Ball was on Paul O'Grady with the cast recently it was the first time he's been on since the year before when Patrick McGuinness was a guest host. Which is why he and Paul were saying it's had been a long time since they'd seen each other, at the start of the interview.

MB was really ill after Women in White thanks to wearing the full fatsuit/prostetics (as was Michael Crawford) so I think he's been very wise to couple wearing a partical fatsuit with putting some of the weight on natrually and avoiding the prostetics all together.

p.s compared to someone like John Barrowman MB didn't seem overly camp to me, perhaps it's all musical talk. :o)

Pippa68 is right. Michael Ball is dating Cathy MacGowan who used to be the presenter of 'Ready Steady Go', the 60's version of Top of the Pops. She is quite a bit older than him.

I don't think he's camp, just in touch with his feminine side.
