LG DR275 DVD recorder set up with a sky

I have the above dvd recorder & am having trouble setting it up with a sky box. My tv has one scart socket, 2 on the dvd recorder & 2 on the sky box. At the moment the sky box VCR scart socket is conected to the AV2 (decoder) socket on the recorder & the AV1 socket on the recorder is connected to a multi scart connector on the tv. Also I have a lead from RF out 1 on the sky box to IN (FROM ANT) on the recorder. With this setup everything seems to work apart from the picture is not a good as before I had the recorder, also I am unable to record from sky & watch another channel which the manual says I can do. I have tried to connect the sky box to the multi scart connector on the back of the tv from the tv scart socket but then I get bad interference when watching tv through the recorder but when I press the tv/dvd button to watch tv if I was recording from sky the signal is fine.
