Wow what a surgery that is. Bloke walked in off the street, got to see a Dr straightaway, who then took blood tests and told him results would be back later the same day.
The samples are transported to the nearest Hospital lab, and most are processed that day, or by the next day. Results are then sent electronically to most GP surgeries. A hard copy is sent with the couriers the next day.
Microbiology tests take longer, and some Biochemistry tests are batched but most tests including Renal Function, Full Blood Counts, Thyroid Function Tests and Liver Function Test, are done same day or next day.
See it's the all new singing and dancing NHS that uncle Gordon promised us yesterday. I heard he is going to pass a bill to make receptionists at the surgery smile next!!! lol.
me too petal, I have to make an appointment for the nurse, the doctor wouldnt dream of doing blood tests, the nurse is only available at certain times.
Ive yet to have had my thyroid fuction test results back same day!!
