If you google for the model you want, you will find it cheaper on line than in the shops. We got a 32" Sony Bravia at the end of last year. I think it was about �550 in Comet, but �170 cheaper on line and delivered for free.

definitely buy online!!!! far far cheaper than the shops.as an example when i was looking a few years back i saw a sony tv in currys. i noted down the number and then googled it when i got home...�500 cheaper!!!!!!! and it only cost �2000 to begin with.

do not rush the purchase.do your research.

i recommend avforums.com - thats where i sought advice when i bought my tv.lots of very knowldgeable people on there and there will also be people who own and live with the tv you end up considering so can offer 1st hand advice.

you will also find absolute bargains eg when i bought the tv i eventaully settled on i got it from freemans online.not as cheap as other shops but they offer 10% off your 1st order!

a 1080p resolution would give you 'true' hd but could well come at an additional cost.
it all depends what you want the tv for. if you intend to invest in sky hd they only broadcast 720p/1080i.
