I can't really explain why its funny. For me, a lot of it is down to the reinforcing of Essex stereotypes (I live in Southend and know many people like the Larry Lamb and Alison Streadman charcters) and Rob Brydon as Bryn is simply excellent.

it made me smile when nessa was calling out ''o'' at the men in the amusement arcade lol ......

and as for bryn, well, i love him, hes so enthusiastic about everything, lol, what with his sat nav and his talk of the street home gym, oh yeh and now being snowed under with his 17 friends on his my space. ..! lol ... very funny
im not too sure about smithys sister's character though, the scene last night reminded me a little too much of catherine tates 'am i bovvered' girl.
