Doc Martin - covered in confusion...

I'm watching last nights Doc Martin, and I'm confused. He walked into the surgery and saw Pauline at the reception and asked who she was. But she was his secretary in the last series - she had the on-line gambling habit, amongst other storylines... Can anyone shed any light? Ta.

Well, yes - as of last Tuesday I am now flaxen haired and it has actually changed my thinking ( although that may well be my age - approaching a signifigant four zero)...
