Standing stones & electricity pylons

Please can anybody help me with the name of a truly terrifying (well I was 5) childrens programme from c.1973. It contained standing stones, electricity pylons and from what I can remember in the opening episode, a kitten that was stuck between a cupboard and a cooker. The streets were deserted. I know it wasn't Tomorrow People as it was on the BBC and it wasn't Dr. Who.

Maybe "The Changes". I say maybe as apart from a lingering mild phobia about pylons I don't really remember it.

I remember this, too - only I was a bit older so it didn't scare the bejezus out of me in quite the same way. It was extremely good, though, real break-through children's tv.
