The voice of BBC radio Dick Barton.
Some years ago, a drama written around small boys, an army camp and the well-known D-Day clues in the Daily Telegraph crossword, was televised. In a parody of his radio character, Noel Johson who played the part of a magistrate, reprimanded the lads who ended up in his court, for being badly influenced by ... Dick Barton.
(DB was a common scapegoat for bad behaviour in the 1940s - 1950s).
What was the name of the play?
