1980's Comedian

There was this 1980's Comedian on British terestrial TV, he wore black trousers that i think were a little short in the leg, he spoke with a soft almost quiet possibly country accent, and I'm sure a pharse he used to use lots was "come closer, theres more" or just "theres more". He was on at about prime time TV, and along with the likes of the Russ Abbot show etc. What was his name, its doing my head in!! ;-)
