Can anyone help me.

My LCD Television had a strong smell of burning last night, so i unplugged everything and left it.
I went to put it on today and the power is going through to the TV, but the screen is totally blank.

Can anyone help explain what is wrong with my TV and can it be fixed?

Thank you

Sorry, but not without taking it to bits - diagnosing hardware faults at a distance is beyond even my psychic powers! I can certainly say it's broken though and you need someone look at it.

Is it still under guarantee?

Unfortunately out of guarantee ..... so my son says. It's his TV ! Thanks.
Try re-posting this question in 'how it works' (apologies if you already have). Some one there may know.
Most TV engineers will come out and give you a free quote. If they find it is an obvious fault and doesn't need to be taken away.

this exact thing happenned to me 2 months ago - couldnt fathom the smell was like a mixture between bleach and dettol so i unplugged it, left it a while and (against my better judgement) plugged it back in and it blew!!!!! so my advice is - get rid
