Thank You Starmer Reeves And Raynor

i saw a movie (rented video - on betamax) when i was quite young. Early 80s. It was probably quite a bad/cheap straight-to-TV movie. It was a mystery/suspense. Seemed to have a lot of symbolic things in it. A hunt for a ?killer. A dream. A cat. A bell. A chase through an old house built on a cliff-top. A ?dream about?greenbacks. It ended with someone being thrown or chased over a cliff landing on the rocks on the seashore. I always thought it had "Midnight" in the title. I thought it was "The other side of Midnight" but it isn't, and is nothing to do with Sydney Sheldon. Any ideas?
