The Cedar Tree

Does anyone remember The Cedar Tree - it was an ITV lunchtime programme alternating with Emmerdale Farm I think.

I remember the one room set (it was the hall!) but nothing else and its driving me round the bend. I've lookedit up on imbd so I know I'm not imagining it, but what was the storyline?

I can remember the intro (just about) and that's it.

The Cedar Tree was about an upper crust family called Bourne who lived at Larfield Manor during The Depression of 1930/40's.It was all garden fete's, house parties, cricket and tennis. Joyce Carey was Helen and her hubby Arthur was Philip Latham. They had three daughters called Elizabeth( Sally Osbourne), Anne( Jennifer Longsdale) and Victoria (Susan Skipper). Carole Royle was a friend of the family called Laura and there was a nanny even though the youngest girl Vicky was sixteen. Anne's horse was called Tallulah and the cedar tree in the garden was hit by a bolt of lightning.Aunt Phyllis takes up with a young actor from London and causes a scandal, Liz falls for Dr Harrington and Vicky comes a cropper with a cad called Rex.Hope this jogs your memory.

Blimmin eck - well done!

That most certainly does jog my memory. We used to watch it at lunchtimes then rush back to school as Susan Skipper was the sister of one of the teachers. We used to hum the theme tune (definitely forgotten) in French lessons to drive poor old Mr Cook mad.
