Just watching The Bill tonight and I think it's been filmed in a different format to usual. Visually it seems more like a film, the picture quality is darker and harder to see.

Has anybody else noticed a difference? Or is it just me?

not watching but recording and you're right.

They did something like this with Heartbeat once and I didn't bother watching it until it went back to normal. May do the same here - the Bill is gonna change soon anyway, so maybe this is all part of that.
Yep, I noticed it too...it had a completely different feel to it, but the sound quality was much better, on my tv at least!

I've got an old telly, so I didn't notice any difference in the sound, just found that I couldn't make out what was happening some of the time. And sometimes characters facing were in deep shadow
Yes, I saw it tonight for the 1st time and I don't like it. It seems like you are watching it from afar, if you see what I mean. You are not "into it" like before. You felt you were in the Police Station with them, but not now.
Yes I agree but it will be great when it is sorted ,I thought the end with Smithy having an set to with that grease ball was superb ,the filming worked in that scene .
Can anyone tell me why the Bill is not repeated on ITV i player or ITV2 or 3 It seems such a waste of a good programe.
