Strictly Come Dancing Alesha Dixon?

Just wondering if anyone has any thoughts on alesha dixon being named as Arlene philips replacement on the judging panel?Personally I think it a bit of an insult to the professional dancers on the show who are probably dancing most of their lives as she doesnt have the expertise in this area an amazing dancer yes judge no.I think alesha is great but not right for this anyone agree?

I completely agree with you. How do you think her ex professional dancing partner would feel about her judging him? If the BBC go ahead with their plans, I for one will not be watching the next series.

What on earth were they thinking about, Alesia`s a lovely girl, but judge? No way, she hasn`t the experience to judge the pro`s.

I would have thought that judges in these competitions would be long established experts and not just people who were quite good at doing whatever they were adjudicating. It is like getting a year seven pupil to mark a year six`s SAT work and the result being taken seriously.
Bring back Arlene - even if she did shout at everyone! I always wondered if her volume control was wonky. Elly.

I think it's a ridiculous decision. Arlene was too much of an expert to be replaced by someone who, though she may be a good singer, does not have the expertise or professional choreography background to judge the dancing. Don't think I'll bother watching the next series.

I agree its more madness from the BBC I wonder what Bruno, Len Craig had to say about the decision? Its going to strange show this year.If they really wanted alesha involved they could have given her a slot on it takes two or something.

Arlene should not have been sacked. She knew what she was talking about, some people might not like what she said, but at least she was honest. Alesha doesn't have enough experience of dancing to be a judge.

It's wrong, Arlene is a true professional with more than 40 years knowledge behind her yet what does the beeb do? Replace for someone who knows sod all about dancing,choreography etc. It's discrimination against the older woman. Ayesha may be gorgeous to look at but as for experience,forget it!!

Bring Back Arlene! Alesha was great as a contestant, but her laugh will drive me insane! and seriously, Arlene was a very good judge and a great choreographer.

I agree with matt - brucie is great. As much as I like alesha and don't like arlene I don't agree with BBCs decision. Arlene should not have been replaced - it's a winning combination and I for one hope they are not ruining it - my year would not be the same. Hi trionam - do I recognize you from a few years ago - are you on my side of the pond?
