I must admit I didn't warm to Julia McKenzie playing Miss Marple. She just didn't look or sound old enough.

I think I was spoilt by Joan Hickson. She seemed to be the character from the books, a nosey, lonely old spinister.

Joan Hickson was the ONLY Miss Marple. Everybody else has just been a poor attempt at portraying the slueth.

Doesn't matter - the only thing that SHOULD matter is that ITV are ruining the Agatha Christie anthology by putting Miss Marple into stories where she doesn't belong. Oh, and changing the ending to stories - see the mess they made of The Murder of Roger Ackroyd in the David Suchet adaptation in 2000.
