Christmas Goodies
30 Answers
Hi all.
Are there any particular goodies that you like to have in your cupboards during the festive period, that you wouldn't normally buy at any other time of the year?
I simply have to have a tub of M&S Roasted Jumbo Cashews, an epicurean collection of continental cheeses and pates and plenty of the old vino. Oh, and I am rather partial to dark chocolate marzipan bars at this time of year.....

We always have an assortment of nuts and then spend hours cursing at them when we can't crack the shells.
We will be getting a few bottles of wine for guests, neither me or the oh drink wine,we get a crate or two of beer for the younger visitors (daughters and their bf's) and then of course there are the traditional mince pies, christmas cake and buffet foods.

no - they just have coconut on the outside with a wafer-like shell & lots of creamy squidgy stuff in the middle. They're made by the makers of Ferrero rocher - but with white chocolate & coconut.
As for the stuffing - normally it's the basic stuff, but just has to have a bit of sausagemeat in in at xmas. I buy real sausages rather than rounds of sausagemeat cos I get much pleasure out of squeezing the innards out of the skin... very therapeutic.

peri - I've always had a strange relationship with sausagemeat. As a child I would sneak into the pantry, squeeze some of the meat out of a sausage and eat it raw. Sounds gross now, but I used to love it.
(Must have been why I was sooooooo skinny as a child - I must have had worms for 10+ years....)
