Can anything be done regarding neighbours making false accusations?
Hi all, stemed from a racial incident 3 yrs ago we've continually logged anti-social behaviour with police and our housing association , putting up with petty behaviour, harassment and now nuisance noise and even had Mediation with neighbours either side of us (live in a terrace house), both neighbours have complained to Housing stating my husband and I have approached both of the neighbours and Housing wrote to us saying we should adhere to the rules of our Mediation!!!!
End of Nov I was approached by one of the neighbours and reported it to Housing (I recorded incident for caution as proof). The Mediation rules state not to approach eachother and now both neighbours from hell are making up false allegations about us doing the same!!!! Which we haven't of course....
There is history of false and malicious accusations made by both neighbours to us and this will not stop, we just can't belive housing are writing to us!!!
We've phoned Housing this morning to find out when have we 'supposedly approched' either neighbour i.e. date, time etc. We're still waiting for their call back!!!!!!
What can we do about these false accusations made by neighbours by law?

It will carry on tit for tat and keep building up until the housing association end up moving one of you. As both sides have complained about you then it is likely that you will be deemed as in the wrong, housing association & council houses are rented to pretty much anyone so it is a bit of a lottery. Just keep a diary, keep making complaints and don't react to them if...

We have only been here for 4 years and put a lot of effort into our home so the last thing we want is to move. To be honest we shouldn't be the one that should move and even if we did, what if we come across the same type of neighbours & endure the same stuff, do we move again and keep on running everytime we face these types of issues?

You appear to have gone down the correct route with mediation and through your local authority. If that isn't working for you now, you should go in to see the officer who is in charge of the mediation and tell them it is not working. i son't think there is anything else to do, but go with the attitude that you really don't believe it is working, from what you write, and from your response tonight, I assume the council have pretty much supported everyone involved but this is breaking down isn;t it?
