Trying to recall a television series from my childhood. This would have been in the late sixties or early seventies. Can't say if it was American or British and the only clue I've got for you is that every episode started with the hero listenig to his new assignment on a cassette tape which always ended with the words "this tape will self-destruct within thirty seconds" - something along those lines. Driving me crazy!
TIA (back tonight to say thanks to anyone who's been able to put me out of my misery, as it were:)

Don't know what the thermometer read today but I can tell you this much, as I walked down my street I saw a small brown sack on the pavement ahead and a young woman just standing there looking at it. As I came closer I realised it wasn't a brown sack at all, it was some kind of bulldog lying there completely flat on its belly, refusing to take another step. I asked (of the woman, not the dog ha ha) if I should go fetch some water somewhere but the dog daddy was already on his way back from their car with water. And that's how hot it's been.
I had to make an additional appointment with my hairdresser to adjust a certain unruliness of the coiffure and as I arrived she was just saying a very tender goodbye to a... hunk, basically. She works at home, one of the rooms is like a salon. Anyhoo, they don't call me Mma Ramotswe for nothing you know, as I was sitting there I suddenly noticed in the mirror a washing instructions dress tag on the side of her dress - she was wearing it inside out. Tut! It's hard to get decent help these days! (Of course I "didn't notice".)
I found the gif Robi, it's named Launch The Hover Cats. Hover cats are a lolcat subdivision... lol... my life is empty... Why am I not out there wearing my dress inside out instead of knowing all there is to know about friggin' LOLCATS ha ha ha.

Ouch, haha, that looks painful Kit. I love those hovering cats...good job they can't though, poor birds wouldn't stand a chance. ....You didn't say anything about the inside out incident?! tut, some 'sister' you are Sweedie. I couldn't have said nothing. I once quietly told a large store assistant that her slip was showing at the back of her skirt & she was grateful...erm, the store was large not the assistant, haha ....
The secret to a good hair-do is to take a picture with you

Morning all.
Thinking of Mr Shaney today and wishing him all the best.
Off shortly down the local pub to celebrate reaching an agreement on land sale. Just me and one other party, not the greedy one!! Taxi arriving at 11.45am and bringing us back at 2.45p.m. Lovely pub, an old mill by the river and the grub is great!! I may or may not pop back later, dependent on how much we celebrate!!
Those sales people must have an arrangement with my dog Robi. For some reason she keeps barking during the night and getting us up!!
xx

Have a good time Lottie, behave yourselves.
Sister's already registered with TPS and so am I but it doesn't stop all the calls. I had one last week, I didn't get to the phone in time, they don't normally let it ring for long. I guessed they'd ring again & 2 hrs later they did. It was a finance company & in all they rang 5 times that day. They haven't bothered since then.
My Charlie can't do that any more neti, he's not that flexible. He can still wipe his face on the carpet when he's had his dinner though, the little horror. :o)

Speaking of pets dead or otherwise ,guess what I've acquired -ok I'll tell you .A miniature poodle x bischon frise dog ! a lady dog she's all white ,is house-trained ,obeys commands ,very quiet not yappy ,her name is Pearl and I love her to bits already.
Last Saturday night Mr.D. was in his armchair looking quite depressed and run -down etc so I thought what he needs is a dog to nurse on his lap. Sunday morning youngest son and our granddaughter came and took us to the Animal Rescue Centre (RSPCA) we checked out a few dogs but nothing suitable without problems ,about to leave when I spotted Pearl and that was it -fell for her ! . Her last owners supposedly moved but the landlord wouldn't allow pets (as if !) She is 3 yrs and 9 months old ,I'll post a photo when I get one ,so here we are proud owners of a glorious dog and I feel quite happy about it . Our last dog Zara (a Rottie x ) died in 1999 so we weren't going to bother again . This might help with the Depression we are both suffering from .
Change of subject ,wishing Mr,S .all the very best today and hope the rest of you are in good health and enjoying your Summer . Mr.D. had to go for another ultrasound on his left arm and shoulder today and go back tomorrow for injection in his arm ,he's not been well since he fell in Feb. and being over 80 doesn't help. Still better than the alternative eh.
Time for cocoa and bed so goodnight from us bye xxx

Afternoon folks. Who said that as you grow older, the years go by faster but the days go by slower...? Seems to me the days (and yes the years too) are on a very fast forward and I don't get anything done. 'Cept sitting here and snacking on some grilled, salty walnuts, yummy. (You're supposed to have them with cheese.)
ROTFL at jno's "air con". I live a 25 minute walk away from that swimming pool and I never noticed the "tornado" - or the 'dust devil'. That area must be like some kind of magnet for trouble; as you may know we were largely spared during ww2 but of the few bombs that did fall a Russian one fell very close to where the "tornado" appeared the other week. You lot bombed us too BTW, in 1940 and 1943. 1940 over Malmö was a mistake, it was meant for Stettin. Wikipedia doesn't explain the second incident, -43 over Lund. Would any of you care to explain NOW?? ;-)
Aww Neti I remember that photo of Charlie, you posted it when he was still alive and you wrote "Charlie in typical male pose" lol. You've all got me started on hover cats now (although in your case Neti you should do hoovercats, considering how much you and Mousey drag that George fellow about:)
strictly speaking more of a levitation http://i49.tinypic.com/1etcba.jpg

Hi
Had a lovely time. Lovely meal and lots of wine and finished off sitting by the riverside drinking coffee. We phoned the taxi man and asked him to delay picking us up for another hour, so arrived home at 4.00. Promptly fell asleep and have now been sick!!
That'll teach me.
See you all tomorrow when I feel better!! xx

Tut ..if I'm not there to keep an eye on you, you misbehave Lofty . I hope I don't see your name in the local rag this week :)
Oooh Dolly a woofer ! How lovely for you . I hope it bucks Mr D up having a pet again .Do you know we have some friends in germany whose dog died and he went into a sort depressed mode .As soon as they got another one he snapped out of it . Strange isn't it.
I'd love to have another one but it's the walking of them .Some days I can walk a good way but some days I can't and it's not fair on a pooch . Looking forward to a piccie :)
Well Mr S has to go into hospital in a couple of weeks time for investigative surgery and biopsies. So I'm even more worried .But I think he's in good hands with this surgeon .I'm just hoping it's nothing untoward .We'll just have to wait and see .
He's yelling at Holland V Uraguay at the mo' so there's nothing wrong with his vocal chords :))
And ...there'll be even louder yelling tomorrow :)
Hope all you chooks are fair to middling .T.Pip for now .
