In the new series in episode 1 Hyacinth goes undercover with Liz from next door, they fire up the Metro and go in search of daddy who is being held hostage in a dodgy old Ford Cortina in somebody's front garden. Let's hope they can rescue him before the candlelight supper!
Its going to be a stage play touring in the Summer - look out at a theatre near you
i used to enjoy that programme, and still enjoy the re runs.

(the bungalow hyacinth and richard 'lived' in is not far from me, i drove passed it just the other day)
Really enjoyed this show! Hyacinth the ultimate snob! Richard the downtrodden husband who always came up trumps! Elizabeth and
Emmett next door neighbours imprisoned in their own home for fear of Hyacinths candlelit suppers! great stuff
Dreadful show.

Never managed more than a couple of minutes, and would now race to the remote if it came on.
I love this programme & always enjoy the repeats. It would be impossible for them to make a new series as both Mary Millar (Rose) and George Webb (Daddy) are now dead.

Went to the TV centre in London once to see the internal shots of an episode being made. It was fascinating.
Awful, awful show. It was just the same jokes every week. Onslow's dog would bark at Hyacinth causing her to fall in the hedge. Sheridan would ring the house wanting money. The next door neighbour would hide from her singing etc etc.

I'm surprised it lasted as long as it did.
I still can't get my head round the fact that Rose is now Edna in Emmerdale!
I loved the show, it was so funny. I watch it on youtube, still makes me laugh.
It was a great show, together with One Foot In The Grave!
It was OK in it's day,but bring it back? Don't think so.
good clean fun.
Pat Routledge is a brilliant actress, but doesn't always pick the best parts - Hettie Wainthrope, for one...
My neighbour is just like Mrs Bucket!!!
One of mine is like Onslow.
My sister IS Mrs. Bucket!
