OK, I understood why the brother and sister wanted to kill Dr Hobson and why the retired nurse was tortured and killed, but why was the Research woman killed along with the student, and why and who attacked the other Dr on the towpath and why?

They were killing Laura's friends to scare her into admitting "the truth" about being their mother. But she couldn't cos she wasn't and didn't know.

Riigghhtt! That makes sense but is a bit of a weak plot line. Laura didn't even know the poor girl student, just had lived in the house 20 years ago. Thanks Francis.

yeah, i think they were just trying to frighten her. It was a reeeeeally stupid storyline tho! and what are the odds of seperated brother and sister marrying each other?! It was all very far fetched....
