Mastermind Champion of Champions

Something I've always wondered about, surely the score is related to the length of the questions? In the current Champion of Champion series, the young man who had won the 2010 series scored 23 on his specialist subject in his heat, but others who also answered all their questions quickly were only scoring 16,17.
Can't see how they can get round it but it hardly seems fair.

If there is a tie, then go the tie-break as now. I can't really believe that all the contestants received the same number of questions as the winner was the last person to answer questions in the final round and still won by more than the number of questions the runner-up received taking into account the number of correct answers, passes and incorrect answers they both received.
They must balance them out in terms of the number they can fit into the questioning time. I have wondered that too, since some questions seem quite long, but I am sure they would be challenged if one person got 18 questions and the others were only asked say 15. It also depends on how quickly the contestants answer!
