I know that bedknobs. But still the question remains - why?
because they have performed outstandingly in their jobs for a long time and bought pleasure to millions?
The honours systems has become a joke, really.
I agree with bebnobs here
Do they do any private charity fund raising that we don`t know about?
MBE is about as low as you can get, since they abolished BEM because of its class distinctions. I wouldn't worry too much; when they become Dames and Knights is the time for concern.
I would imagine they would do something with Charity 237SJ
For persistently boring the pants off us. They looked like a pair of Widow Twankies.
Do you not think that appearing on prime-time television for 30 years or more wearing a ridiculous wig does not deserve some kind of recognition?

MBE is awarded for achievement or service in and to the community of a responsible kind which is outstanding in its field.

For goodness sake, Coronation Street is a pretend world.

Step forward Sir Norris - you are next!

Now I dont agree there ayg, especially Rita, she's a pretty good actress and a good singer years ago. She has had some good story lines and has played them with good and convincing class. - Pin it on with pride Rita.

I don't watch it now jem, they've all overstayed their time on Corrie, to be awarded for that is a mockery of the system.
Raggy yes very well done, but who are you? they have been in our living rooms for 40 years and are very well known and loved.

Raggy I've worked 27 years for the Government. I don't qualify for the medal, nor do I expect anything, but working behind the scenes is far more worthy than dressing up and mouthing scripts every day. Not everyone is enamoured with soaps.
My father refused an MBE back when I was a child. I didn't know this until after he died. So I have no idea why he was awarded it. I do know he thought royalty were the privileged, who the masses had to pay for.

One programme, one character. Hardly a briliant cv.
