Freeview connection

Can anyone help please. I have just been given a Freeview box which has been connected to my television. I also have a DVD player connected. Since connecting my Freeview box I cannot get a channel for my DVD player. I have a scart connected from the TV to the Freeview box and another scart connected from the Freeview box to the DVD player. Obviously something has been connected incorrectly but I don't have the instructions for the Freeview box so I'm stuck. Does anyone know what I should do. Thank you.

Firstly, have you got two scart connections on the back of the TV? If so connect the freeview and dvd player separately. If not, make sure that the freeview box is turned off when turning on the dvd player.

Also bear in mind that the DVD channel will be AV1 or AV2
