santa claus the movie and dads army

is the head elf from santa claus; the movie also one of the main characters in dads army? I don't know any of the names but the one in dads army was one of the older one's, with a white moustache and i think he was a bit dim as captain mannering always had a go at him for various things.

Any ideas?

I wonder if you are thinking of Clive Dunn (nes in Dad's Army)? He had a white moustache. Wiki says he retired in 1984 and now lives in Portugal, Many of the other cast members are now dead, unfortunately.

Maybe dudley moore was the head elf, i was thinking of one of the other ones that was quite outspoken, sorry, i wasn't watching it properly . . . Clive Dunn, that's they guy i was thinking of, now to see if he was in Sanata Claus the movie or if it was just someone who looked like him . . . .Just someone that looked like him . . .
