Anybody have freeview TV?
I was thinking if its worth it and would be cheaper than Sky although I will want Sky sports included so how much would it cost?
Thanks Ron T.

Sky Sports 1 & 2 (together with ESPN if required) are available on digital terrestrial TV, in addition to Freeview programming, if you buy a special box from Top Up TV (with prices for their boxes starting from £19.99) and pay the relevant monthly fees:

You probably only need to buy a freeview box if you have a fairly old TV, most newish ones have freeview built in. if not then you could use your current sky box to receive the free channels even if you cancelled your sky subscription for no extra cost.
but, sky sports is only available as a pay for service (I'm not sure you can legally stream all sky sports programs)

It's nothing special Trt. We bought a Freeview box for the bedroom TV (my wife likes to lie in bed watching the box). The channels and programmes are the sort of basic drivel such as films, make-overs etc that fill slot time. If you want to watch decent channels and programmes (including sport) then you have to pay for them I'm afraid. Think about it! Freeview provides those programmes not worth paying for!
as long as you've had the sky HD box for longer than the initial contract term then no you don't have to give it back.
You'd still be able to receive and watch all the free channels (even the HD ones) if you didn't renew your subscription but all the recording and live pausing etc.. functions on the sky box would no longer work.

You could always get a Freeview box with TopUp TV included and then you can get a few extra channels for a small amount each month. I know that a sport channel is one of them. We have got a Freeview Recorder with TopUp TV capabilities but are not interested in having the extra channels but they keep pushing the sport channel on it. Our box was not expensive either, only about £70
