Pirates Of The Caribbean: At World's End

Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End is an all action fantasy adventure. This is the third film in the Pirates series. Directed by Gore Verbinski and has a fantastic ensemble cast including Johnny Depp, Keira Knightly, Orlando Bloom, Bill Nighy, Tom Hollander and Chow Yun Fat.

As with many sequels and trilogies the second and third films are often not as well received as the first. Unfortunately this seems to have happened with this the third in the Pirates series. Many viewers found the plot overcomplicated for what is basically an action adventure film with a bit of a love story and plenty of opportunity for CGI thrown in.

Audience opinion was split when it came to the acting especially of the leads. Many found Depp’s reprisal of Jack Sparrow stilted and stale. In addition, the character of Barbarossa (Geoffrey Rush) was in contention for lead as he had so much screen time.

The film follows the journey of Will and Elizabeth to find and rescue Jack Sparrow from the afterlife. This involves much bargaining, double crossing and scheming with the supporting cast. Will finds his father on the Flying Dutchman and faces a heart breaking choice when he tries to save him.
