Where can I download latest movies on the internet
A.� There are several sites�where you can download films and TV shows. Launched 10 months ago after the demise of Napster, MusicCity's Morpheus has become the most popular place on the internet to download material, with more than one million downloads a week.

The controversial new device called Replay TV 4000 allows users to record their favourite shows in digital format directly from their televisions. These films can then be sent over the net to other Replay owners, while some users transfer them onto their PCs.

Q.� What does the entertainment industry make of this
A.� Not a lot. Around 11 million Americans are swapping television programmes and films online and are downloading an estimated 350,000 movies from the internet each day. The entertainment industry reckons it is losing billions of dollars a year, and is planning legal action to safeguard its interests.

Q.� What can be done
A.� The Motion Picture Association of America, which represents the major studios, is launching a series of actions. The MPAA suit has been launched against MusicCity and others for copyright infringement. Those named in the action are MusicCity.com, MusicCity Networks, Grokster, LTD and Consumer Empowerment BV, also known as FastTrack.

MusicCity is alleged to have operated a Napster-like service providing users with movies, television programmes and music, offering films such as Legally Blonde (starring Reece Witherspoon), Planet of the Apes and The Princess Diaries. The entire catalogue of TV shows such as Sex in the City and The Sopranos which viewers would be able to see only by paying a monthly subscription to cable channel, HBO, are available for free.

The industry is using Ranger Online, a search engine that tracks down pirated movies on the web to locate sites offering film and television shows. It is enlisting the help of the FBI and the US Secret Service to try to identify offenders.
