hi all
i have a punto 60 1200 mk1. I appllied my brakes quickly the pedal went halfway down before the brakes kicked in. I a fitted a new master cylinder and a rear brake cylinder as the nipple broke off when bleeding. I checked and cleaned and lubed all the brakes. Pads and shoes are fine. I changed my dot 4 fluid. I bled the the system twice by pedal pump and and bottle method and twice with a pneumatic bleeder. i still only have half a pedal of play before the brake work. I don't know what check next is there a compensator on this model. The pedal is hard when the engine is off and goes down when it is turned on. Anyone got any ideas?

I had a similar problem a few years ago on another car turned out to be the servo
1; make sure your rear shoes are fully adjusted. 2; check the slides/pads are free on front calipers, there may be a compensator on the rear arm/axle.
Rear shoe wear and adjustment .. and seized linkages at rear are favourites here.
Not self-centering shoes on the rear are they?
