BMW X3 Msport suspension too firm

hi, car needs set of tyres, and i was hoping the right choice of tyres might help soften the ride some. This will cost £1000 at least to do, so tyres with a reasonable lifespan would be a bonus.

the other think to do is have the suspension changed or maybe adjusted, would this be a very expensive option?

Theres not a lot you can do without expense...you could go for a different profile on the tyre but you will need to change the wheels.The sports suspension can be deleted at the build stage ...but its too late now.I know what you mean..Mrs Bright spark has an X5 M sport and that handles like a go cart on rails however its a very firm ride.

What wheels do you have fitted? .. Often the largest diameter have to have the lowest profile tyres fitted. That results in an uncompliant ride .. and the wheels and tyres are much more expensive when you break/wear one out.
M sport suspension is hard. ..Some used to be adjustable to a degree.

I think 18" is the standard size but this X3 has 19" rims fitted.

The tyres are 235/45/R19 and 255/40/R19.

It is Nov '07 3.0 SD.

I'll phone the BMW dealership to see if there is any adjustment on the suspension.

Thats the problem then shivs..19'' wheels will have less rubber between the rim and the road than that of an 18'' with the same overall circumference.I think your'e stuck with it.

I didn't go to 19" on the Skyline because of these issues. Stuck to the 18" BBS's
