RAV D4D Problem

I have a rav D4D Jan 2002 with 220,000 km on th eclock.

When I start it from cold, no problem, however when I try starting it after s run of about 15/20 miles it refuses to start. I have changed the starter and put in a new higher amp battery but no luck. When it cools off it starts again no problem.

I took it to a dielse mechanic who was going to do a leak test but when he put a power supply on the battery it started no problem. He assures me it is not a fuel problem. I took it to a diesel mechanic who was useless.

I have had it on the diagnostic but no problem shpwed up.

This is a really annoying problem and I woudl love to get to the bottom of it. Any ideas?

First thing to check before you throw away any more cash is to check the crankshaft sensor, just cleaning the tip of the sensor can solve your problem!

Fitting a new one if it is needed is cheap.

Is there a fuel LP pump relay? If there is, replace it.
