Cat D Cars
14 Answers
If the car I want to buy would normally be priced at around £10,000, what sort of discount should I be looking for if it is a Cat D that has been restored? It is being advertised at about 30% less than for a non Cat D. Would this be about right? Just wondered if there is a rule-of-thumb. Thanks.

I personally have never had any issues with selling any cat C's or D's I've sold and regularly drive one around because they generally offer good value for money, so as long as you price accordingly you shouldn't meet any obstancles really.

ah well if you're negociating for price that's a different matter. go in there and assasinate it. all cars have faults, find every one this one has and haggle it down. You're cop de grace will be it's cat D status, state how hard they are to sell, the financial climate etc, ask where it was repaired, do they pics of the damage, if you have an HPI check and it's had panel work done query the quality of the paint job etc, there's always something, and finally take cash, people can't resist cash. Good luck, hope you get it;-)
