have a w reg megane 200 plate the fob wont open central locking opened it manually but imobby wont turn off any ideas. went to renult dealer want 88 for dinostic cheek and then 170 for new key sorry about the spelling inside the key looks if the solder is damaged can it be re soldered .or the im,mbby cut off all to gether ? could live with out central lockin and imbilizer help

Replace the battery, whilst the battery is out clean the contacts & try.

After changing the battery you may need to synchronise the fob. Check your handbook for details.

The procedure for my 2000 Renault Scenic is. From inside the car:-

1. Press the fob for about 10 seconds until the battery tell tale light extinguishes.

2. Release the button then press it twice in succession.

If you do end up needing a new fob/key there are cheaper places than Renault who can fix you up.

Radio Remote key (red light in overhead console, lock button on dash.
If you are completely screwed after a re-entry ...
Follow this .. (don't you have the other key to try??)
You need dealer PIN number (emergency code) from VIN
