I have a renault clio campus 1.2 16v sport 08 plate. I'm reading the manual to see if I need to get a service at the moment - I am due my MOT in a couple of weeks and so far have had it serviced annually every March.
I have only done 15.5k miles in total and only 3.5k since the last service. Apart from the fact I'd rather not spend the money, it seems to make more sense to get the service done at the end of the summer to prepare for the winter and the book seems to indicate that 18 months is the correct interval, but it's not that easy to follow.
My advice woud be to get it serviced every year due to the low mileage you do. Doing short low mileage journeys is not good for the engine ,especially the oil. I am in a similar position to you only do approx 3000 mles per year and allways have service or at least oil change every year.
Yes, I was thinking about asking for them just to do the oil change and MOT - the filters were all changed last time. Probably for the first time as Arnold clark did the previous services and as far as I can see all they did was skoosh a hose over it and give me it back wet!! The local garage did it last year and to be fair I could feel the difference, they'd tightened the handbrake etc and it felt really nice. I just wish I could afford to get it all done again.
Hi toureman, after your recommendation once before when I was having trouble with a scenic we had, I joined that site- it seems to have gone very quiet in the Clio forum though.
