I recently parked my car in Hayling Island beach car park.I paid £3.60 for time put ticket on dashboard correct way up etc, closed the drivers door and went away.On return 30 mins before exit time I had a fine for £50 ticket on screen. When I looked for reasons I noticed the ticket was the wrong way up not showing the amount/time etc. What HAD happened was as door was closed the draught had turned the ticket over when door was closed and i didn't see it.I have been to office and filled an appeal form in and must wait for reply. If they say I will still have to pay fine what do I do next? I know it is a genuine mistake but hope They will accept my reasons.

if it's any consolation that happened to me, my appeal was upheld and I did not have to pay. Not same area though.
Likewise, in Southport, mine actually fell onto the floor of the car and was not visible.
The fine was cancelled, but the letter of confirmation made plain a second excuse would not be accepted.
Ditto Big Jack, I always check when I leave the car now.
Sticky type parking tks should be a must, there is only one place in our area that gives out tks without the adhesive on the back, this stops a lot of extra work to those involved, I hope you win your case Picker.
