The heater on my 97 Fiesta works sometimes. I've flushed out the heater radiator but that's made no difference. Can anyone tell me what to try next

It needs a new Heat Control Valve (HCV)

The fitting of it might be similar in cost to the value of the car.

Thanks Hopkirk, I'll try that
With bitter experience I won't buy car parts off ebay.

I wasted money on a throttle position sensor that was worse than the one I was replacing. I then realised there are lots of cheap copy parts coming out of China.

Better to research where you can buy a genuine Ford part.

Buy cheap, buy twice.

Hopkirk, Thanks for the warning. We have a Ford dealership nearby so I'll go to them
Here is a genuine Ford part on t'internet, to give you an idea if the dealer is asking silly money.

Don't assume though that I have got precisely the right one.

Also if you search on youtube there are several videos of people fitting an HCV
