Peugeot 206 Oil Cap

The oil cap on my Peugeot 206 as a yellowy grime round the oil cap. Is this a sign the head gaskets going does anyone know? Thanks

This cold weather will cause that Jon, If the car does not use oil, it's ok. If the same with the Coolant, no problem.

Thanks for advice. I did run out of water so the car over heated a little! (I'm a women drive) thanks again x
Forget the yellow grime and take a look at the surface of the oil. If it's simply 'oily' then your head gasket is sound. If it's like mayonnaise get ready for a big bill!
Jon, the peugeots are one of the worst for Head Gaskets especialy when running very low on the Coolant, make sure you check the water daily ( With the ENGINE COLD, do not let it go under the MIN marker on the Bottle, your first sign of coolant loss is your heater, without the Heater motor on, run your car with the heater Hot / Cold in that position by doing that you can tell the system has coolant in it.
buenchico- do you mean inside where the cap goes- the engine block-or on the dipstick?
