Tyres For Tignes

Hi, I can see this has been asked (sort of) before but it would be very kind if someone could humour me. I bought some Winter tyres (I didn't realise there were also Snow tyres). The tyres are called SnowMaster although I think they're Chinese imports due to the price. There's a snowflake symbol and the letters "M+S" which I understand stands for mud and snow. And looking at them, they've clearly got a lot of extra wibbly lines/treads all over and above regular tyres.

My question is - is there any chance the police will insist I fit snow chains as well or are these definitely good enough for driving all the way to Tignes?

Even cheap winter tyres give impressive grip in cold conditions but don't expect miracles !
Winter tyres are made of a different rubber compound that stays soft at temperatures under about 7 degrees centigrade. Normal tyres rubber hardens up at these temperatures, making them more like plastic and less grippy.
Check the local law where you plan on going (Tignes) on the use and carrying of chains...
Snow tyres on a good 4x4 would be almost unbeatable.
