Sat Nav Charging

I have a Tom Tom which I can connect to my laptop via usb and charge it outside of the car, I also have a charger for my Samsung phone which has a lead with a usb that pushes into a three pin plug for mains charging. Would it be safe to connect my sat nav to this mains plug to charge it from the mains?
