If the radio is battery powered, are the batteries fully charged ? If the radio can be powered by mains as well, is any better ? Some radios will just not perform very well unless the batteries are 100% charged.
Try another radio in the same situation ! Not all radios are a good as others. I use PURE dab radios at home ( x 4 ! ) and all of them give a really good service.
Try moving the radio to another place in the house.

MM...I must have at least 10 radios now, in the house and the caravan.
I know, I know...too many ! But the PURE ones are the best, by a long chalk. The first one I bought was a stereo EVOKE-2, in 2004. Its still has pride of place in my kitchen.
Once in a while I connect this to my Mission Hi-fi system and I connect the input of the radio to my roof-top aerial....magnificent !
