£49.99

Thank you, then why when i called to book an appointment did they say it would be nearly £200!!!???
New key + programming = £49.99
They may have thought you also needed locks when you rang.
Just refer them to their website.
Ask them! The link is clear that it is £49.99
Before you fork out (assuming you still have the original one) there might be a DIY solution, search the forums.
Have you got the pin code they need?
Is it a 107 or a 1007?
Question Author
i still have the spare key that opens the car manually but i've lost the fob :-( i will be able to get the pin from the dealership i brought it from. I explained to them that i can come to them and wait while they do it but the guy said the £50 is just for the key, not the programing or cutting. Maybe i should call back tomorrow and hope to get someone else?
Question Author
107, i know i did say that to him as well, i know the 1007 is nearly £200, don't know if he got confused
Tandh are you a member of AA think they do it for free - prepared to be corrected
Oh I get it. The grey box says New Key + Programming, so they are giving you the key only price to prick your ears up, and the + sign means the programming costs extra.
Legit but sneaky. I don't like it much.
My answer no good if you need a new fob I would think it must come from dealership and will have price structure nationwide
Quizproquo, I have looked again but it says New key + programming £49.99 NOT, New Key £49.99 + programming. There is a big difference made by the position of the words and numbers!
If the '+programming' was in the white box with the ' £49.99' it would mean the programming was extra, but 'New Key plus Programming' is in the grey box and '£49.99' is in the white box on it's own meaning that is the full price for a programmed key.

thats good thinking tony, i am in a sense, it's via a package deal with helifax, but new keys are one of the only things that aren't included. :-(
sorry quiz, think i agree with eddie about the wording. the +programming should be in the same box as the £50 if they want to charge you extra. and by the same logic the 1007 would be £180 just for the key which seems a lot
^^ I thought that about the 1007 key as well, no key can be that different in price surely? The programming or the computer 'chip' that must make the difference?
Question Author
i dont get it either, i was wondering if they left a 1 off, ie £150 instead of £50, but there are a couple of other cars that are around the £50 mark. And surely they would of checked what they wrote before setting up thewebsite, it's not like they have hundards of different models. One guy i spoke to about it said some keys are £400 to replace, i think sometimes they just charge what they think you'll pay, rather than what it costs to make. I know the £70 lenses in glasses cost less than £1 wholesale, it's just crazy how much profit some company's manke
