Best Place To Sell My Car
5 Answers
Local dealerships seem to give you the lowest end of what your car is worth but always worry selling privately has its own risks. Places like 'we buy any car' again seem to offer below market value albeit a quick sale. I have looked at Auto trader but worry about the amount of detail I need regarding technical spec/ features etc and would worry I would miss something important! - Any suggestions please on best way to sell my car. Its of fairly substantial value (around £20k) but need something smaller now my little one is not so little. I don't want to part exchange, I would rather sell the car, collect the money and buy a newer car outright, albeit a less expensive one and different make/ model. Thanks

Only after that was the paperwork completed and keys and car handed over.
You are right to be wary. The buyer will want a test drive. Make sure he (or she) is insured to drive the car and don't hand over the keys until you are both in the car. Don't get out of the car until you have the keys back in your hand.

I dont know how big the population is where you live, but I sold mine about a month ago locally, through word of mouth.
I informed my garage that serviced it, and other local respectable repair shops, as they are the places that people discuss changing cars, and tell them, there would be a drink in it for them.
I was lucky, sold mine in 7 days, to the first person that came to look, and I live in a small Town.
It saves on all the time wasters wanting to test drive,
phone calls, e-mails, texts, and dodgy people etc,
Also your local Gum-tree, or FB, but at £20,000, might be to much for them.
