My car insurance renewal is due 1/2/2021. I arranged this but have now cancelled it because when I received my papers the policy stated I was not covered if I had an accident and it was my fault? It was a comprehensive policy, surely this is supposed to cover me whoever is at fault or am I naive. If this is the case its no better than Third Party, Fire and Theft. I have been driving for over 40 years and have not once made a claim in all that time. This goes up every year without fail, WHY. Can anyone give me some advise on where I might go to get a better deal. Ive been on the comparison sites but Im not too impressed at the prices. Im 62.
My insurance is through Post Office Insurance, which is a broker. When my renewal has been due, I've sometimes spent the equivalent of several working days comparing the deal that they've offered me with cheapest I could find myself. On every occasion, the cheapest price I've found myself has been exactly the same one that Post Office Insurance had found for me in the first place. So perhaps worth a try?

then whats the point of being insured if you can't be covered for an accident that's yur fault - might as well rely n everyone elses insurance. Even TPFT covers you for accidents that are your fault (not your repairs, but other peoples)
