Hyundai I10

That is what I have it is 10 years old this year and has 25,000. It is a great wee runaround but this past 2 years I find it very bumpy - you know you feel every stone, dip pot hole and like really bad. When you are going over these you think you are on a rollercoaster.

I am nervously thinking of getting a newer one to avoid the above but don't want to spend too much money.

It is 11 years since I bought a new car - am not fussed if it is new - perhaps a little more luxurious. Would go for Hyundai again. Any help please.

My Hyundai (IX35) has been a dream and nothing has ever gone wrong with it, except the right wing mirror doesn't always turn in and out with the left one and sometimes I have to press the button a couple of times. I wouldn't hesitate to have another one and if I have enough money left over when the house is finished I will upgrade to a newish Tucson.

I do feel the bumps in the road though but I don't let that bother me because it's an excellent motor in every other way and lovely to drive.

My Hyundai i30 is 11 years old and has been absolutely problem free. I’m keeping it for as long as possible.
Are your tyres properly inflated?

My Hyundai is five years old with 16K miles.
In my 60 years of motoring I can honestly say it's the most reliable and well made car I've ever owned. I would buy another Hyundai without hesitation for quality and reliability, oh, and economy too.

Derek, my diesel Hyundai has sailed through every MOT and has only had a new battery, wipers, brakes and tyres. When I bought it it was one of the cheapest models of that size, it's an automatic, but the quality is quite remarkable. Seats are still firm, bodywork excellent.
If it died tomorrow it would owe me nothing but I hope it just keeps going.

If the suspension only seems hard recently then something may have changed. I would get it checked out - tyres (as suggested) and the springs & shocks. At 25,000 miles there shouldn't be too much wrong with it. (or maybe the roads just got worse?)
And if you do change cars take a good test drive to make sure it's soft enough for you!

I wouldn't ditch a reliable car with such low mileage. If the tyres are properly inflated, and the wheels properly balanced (did you hit a big pothole 2 years ago?) get the suspension checked.

ok - went to my local hyundai - - are you laughin a laugh. Dont get me wrong - body work - not good - but they were offering £800 trade off. So I will drive until the death. LOL.

Don't blame you. Get it a garage for a look at tyres, tracking and suspension.

Having slept on it! With 25k miles you may still be on the original tyres? If so 10 years is a long time for a tyre & the rubber may have deteriorated & become hard. I would go to a decent tyre supplier & ask their opinion.

Be honest about the condition

My car is ready for its MOT in August. My mechanic did tell me to get new tyres for the back which I did. Other small things were done and then the big service was done. If there was anything wrong with the suspension he would have told me. To be honest there is one terrible street in city centre and the pot holes and dips are diabolical but the rest is not too bard. No I'll hold on to my trusty steed.

I'm very surprised at that figure, jj. Seems good to me but I would still keep the car .
Oh - they are offering me £2695 for mine.

They certainly will with JJ's car - she has less than 6 months left on the MOT and she has already said the bodywork is not good. I reckon they'd drop it by at least £800.

well when I was at the dentist on Wednesday (I don't go Ah Ah at any car) but this magnificent beast was at the back and a gentleman had the doors open. Black with bright white leather inners. It was stunning and a Rolls Royce brand new. The gentlemen was the chauffeur - as time was of the essence in passing through dentists I would have loved to have seen the owner. Now that's a car LOL and of course your chauffeur. You wouldn't feel any pot holes there - magnificent.

can I ask - you know annually when I am paying my insurance - insurancer have the car down being £6,000 (price I paid for it). So next year should I lower the price of car and make it even £3000 or lower.
