My daughter snd son in law have bought a Citreon 998cc car for their 17 year old daughter, very expensive in my opinion but have been saving for it all her life. they were going to go for a Toyota but looked at several other makes 998 cc for a first car. However I was told that a lot of them had wet carpet under the rubber mats and that this is a common problem. and it come through the window trims and is a well known problem. is it? I have had a Nissan Micra 1995 model and never a hint of wet floor despite it being kept outside. I got rid of it last year when it failed the MOT needing welding. I now have another same model but 2001 (same spec) and this does not leak rain in through the windows. What are the experts views?
Second hand car prices are frighteningly high these days, so they probably paid the going rate.
The little Citroëns are good first cars, my daughter has the Peugeot version. The engines are made by Toyota in those cars, and they are respected as some of the most reliable cars made.
