How to change headligt bulb on Toyota Avensis
4 Answers
A dipped beam bulb has failed on my toyota avensis (old shape). I have removed the rubber cap and unplugged the cable from the bulb but cannot release the clip which is difficult to see. How do I do this? I tried to release the whole headlight assembly by removing two screws at the top to improve the access, but something else was holding it.
Any help gratefully recieved.

When headlights are assembled it's easy; they are not on the car but thereafter you need triple jointed fingers and a degree in Braille. Of course, it could just be that it's another little way of getting you to part with money at your friendly local dealer to have him do the work. Or is that just me being cynical ?
a torch and a small mirror (the wife/girlfriend's make up mirror when she is not looking) should do the trick. You need to see how the clip fits into the light assembly. Its a push and bend/turn trick not dissimilar from removing a bayonet connection (BC) light bulb in the home.
Then you really need to make sure that you don't get greasy fingerprints on the new lamp.
