Isuzu Trooper 3.0 engine
Hi. My trooper's engine recently decided to give up the ghost - head gasket, scored bores etc. Basically, the engine is shot and either needs replacing or rebuilding. I'm not able to find anyone that is willing to do a rebuild or purchase a good secondhand unit -
Striaght, it is probably worth about 7 grand, so I have to watch what i'm spending on it. Isuzu told me that a short engine without any internals was about 5 grand (hoping that the alloy head would be OK!) - Pistons are about 90 quid a piece, so after anything else and the fitting, it would cost more than its worth.
You can see the problem I have. I did find one for 3 grand plus vat, and someone that would fit a recon 3.1 unit with conversion for the same price, but i feel that 3250 plus the 200 i have already given to the mechanic is too much.
its a dog of an engine and prone to these problem - I have now been told, but the engine is expensive.
Does anyone know of one or somewhere that would be able to rebuild this unit.
Thanks in advance,
Steve
